combined dry ingredients

First let’s work on the dry ingredients. Put the coffee and sugar into the bowl, slowly mix with your whisk until both of the ingredients are combined. When you feel like your ingredients are whisked together enough it’s time to add your cinnamon! This step is completely optional, you can add another spice such as nutmeg or you can even use both in this if you want to be creative! In the one I made I used cinnamon. You can add as much as you like, it’ll make your scrub remind yourself of winter season. Then whisk the cinnamon until it’s fully incorporated. Then set it aside.

In another bowl that’s microwave safe, put 1/2 cup of coconut oil in and microwave until completely melted. Approximately 20 seconds then stir around and put it back if needed.   Take out your melted coconut and set aside until it’s completely cooled down enough. When the coconut is ready, have your two bowls next to each other and if you want more fragrance you can add 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to the coconut oil, it’s totally optional. After you think everything looks good slowly add in your wet ingredients to your dry. Whisk throughout pouring. I would pour in half and then stir then repeat till it’s all combined.  When it starts to look like a scrub grab a container that has a lid AND have it large enough for you to grab and scoop some when you’re showering. Then your done!

SIDE NOTES:

Be sure to close the jar completely so no ants can get in and try to eat your creation! When you scrub, be sure to leave it on for a while (1 – 2 minutes)  or longer for healthy hydrating skin. Soon after just rinse and your done. You can save money by remaking this recipe instead of buying expensive lotion body wash that will make your skin feel dry after getting out of the shower. Unless you want to smell extra good then you can apply lotion after but either way is good.
